Hi friends!
For many years, I've had plans to stitch all the Prairie Schooler Santas and have them all displayed on a pencil tree and it's just never happened (yet)! This year, I had the pleasure of finishing 10 Prairie Schooler Santas for my finishing service client, Gina. They were all stitched so beautifully I was almost scared to finish them for her! When Gina received the Santas, she arranged them on her own pencil tree and shared a photo of her beautiful display with me. This was all the motivation I needed to make sure I get mine done next year!
I am a sucker for anything from The Prairie Schooler, so when these Barnyard Christmas ornaments showed up at my doorstop for finishing, I immediately pulled the chart out and kitted them up. My goal is to get them stitched, finished and on my own tree by December... Yikes!
Hello Friends!
I've finally gotten around to fully finishing the majority of the Halloween smalls I stitched up this year! It feels good to move them off my pre-finishing table and move on to some Christmas pieces.
This little Ghost came out of one of those Prairie Schooler mini sets. Isn't he the cutest? He's stitched on 32 ct Platinum Lugana using the called-for threads. The cutting board came from Hobby Lobby. It was plain wood so I chalk-painted it black and roughed up the edges. The ghost is matted with homespun fabric and then mounted to the front of the board. I edged the sides with black cording and added this cute Halloween ribbon I found at Joanns.
"Spirits and Spells" by With thy Needle and Thread (Brenda Gervais) was stitched on 28 ct evenweave that I dipped first in purple Rit dye and then again in grey. I used most of the called-for threads. The piece was matted with some Halloween-y fabric and mounted to the front of this barnwood frame from Michaels. I edged the piece with orange cording and added a bow with a pumpkin button center.
I've also been crazy busy in the studio finishing for my awesome clients. I really appreciate anyone who trusts me with their beautiful pieces!
