You Are Loved

Did you ever come across stamps you loved but hated at the same time? That's how I feel about this stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil. I absolutely love the stamp itself - the little girl is so cute, and the design can be used for many different occasions -- however, for whatever reason, I HATE coloring this stamp. And of course its one of those most requested card designs I get. Isn't that just the way!

For this particular card, I used designer paper from K&Company for the background layering and paper flower. I stamped the Studio G sentiment on white cardstock and mounted it with foam tape for dimension and then added a small coordinating purple pearl for a touch of color. The stamp was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and chalked at the edges. 

I think it's time for me to retire this stamp for awhile! :)

Creativity Rules

The title of the post says it all. :)

I really enjoyed making this card because I feel like this stamp is me on a Saturday morning -- on the floor among all of my supplies trying to plan my creative week ahead. The stamp is from Mo's Digital Pencil and it was colored with Prismas and chalks. Because of its size, I wasn't really able to embellish much so the stamp had to stand on its own with just a simple paper flower and some sparkly rhinestones. I had absolutely no idea what sentiment should be attached but since it wasn't a custom order, I opted for the Creativity Rules stamp I had in my stash. Sometimes I wish I could track where my greeting cards actually go to -- I'd be curious to find out if the recipient of this card was an art teacher, or just a craftaholic like the rest of us! :)

Two of a Kind Birthday Card

Today I'm featuring my Two of a Kind card from my studio and Etsy shop.

This stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil always makes me smile. Such a clever concept - and so cute. I used some polka-dot sage, red and white paper I had in my stash and mounted my "Smile" sentiment on a 1" circle, adhered with foam tape. After searching through my mounds of stamps, I figured "Smile" basically summed it up and also made it so that this card can be used for many occasions.

Make a Wish Birthday Card

Today I'm featuring my original Make a Wish birthday card from my studio and Etsy shop.

This card was one of my favorites because of the colors. It was one of those cards where everything just seemed to work - all the way down to the cloud DP I had in my stash. The fairy digi stamp was colored with Prismacolor pencils and accented with chalks and the sentiment and paper flower was attached with foam tape for added dimension. When I get a chance I'd like to make a few more of these cards in different colors/variations. Let's see how far I get... :)

Dandelion Wishes & New Gemstone Necklace

Hi everyone!

Today I'm featuring my Dandelion Wishes handmade card and Charcoal Granite beaded necklace.

For my Dandelion Wishes card, I went with some really great floral paper from My Mind's Eye, and then colored the image to match. I adhered the image, paper flower and sentiment with various levels of foam tape for some added dimension and added the red rhinestone center for some color. I somehow broke my jumbo daisy punch in the process though - so that was kind of a bummer but it just gives me an excuse to shop for some more stash!

My Charcoal Granite necklace was made with jungle Jaspar and all natural gemstones. The beads pretty much can stand on their own so I didn't go too crazy with this one. Sometimes less is more, right?

On a different note, I get a lot of e-mails from people asking how I'm able to ship internationally from home. I have an account with Stamps.com which allows me to print postage right from my studio and mail it out in my own mailbox. In terms of international, Stamps.com has a customs form feature where you can fill out your electronic form online and it will include itself within the label. Anything under 16 oz can be placed in your mailbox. My mailman picks it up all the time - I've never had a problem. Hope that helps. Little Girl Birthday

Today I'm featuring my Static Birthday handmade card in the shop. I've always liked this stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil even though it's not the easiest to color. Once I decided to make her a redhead, it was easier for me to decide on a color scheme of tangerine and teal - I thought the colors complimented themselves well. I layered pieces of DP, added some paper fasteners, and made a paper flower that captured all of the colors. The sentiment is popped up with some foam tape for a little dimension.

Best Friends

I'm a little late for National Card-making Day, but nonetheless, today I'm featuring my Best Friends card from the shop. The card was created with layers of brown, pink and teal designer paper and features a digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil - one of my favorites I might add. I popped the sentiment up with some foam tape and then added matching DP to the back of the card to finish it off.

Super Kid Birthday Card

Today I finished up this birthday card using a digi from Mo's Digital Pencil called "Superduper Boy" -- really cute and easy to color with my Prismas. The paper is from a DCWV stack, and I used paper fasteners to add a little more design to it.

I notice that every year around this time I tend to be a little more creative and get myself on a bit of a roll, focusing on new "stuff" rather than just requests. I'm thinking a lot of that has to do with the weather changing. I absolutely love fall and enjoy walking up a little earlier on Saturday mornings planning my crafty "to do" list with a cup of pumpkin spice coffee. The only bad thing is that with fall comes all of the Christmas crafting, and I am so far behind.... eek.

Muchas Gracias

Just finished up this fun thank you card with some inventory from my stash. I had this great dog-themed paper I had been trying to find an excuse to use for months now and when I searched through my digis and saw that I had a Chihuahua stamp from Mo's, I figured what better way to go. I went with a pretty clean design and then added the paper fasteners just for a little bit of detail. I thought the sentiment was perfect.

The funniest part of this whole process was that I never realized that the Chihuahua in the stamp had a collar on that said "Spike" until I started coloring him in, and as you all know, I ironically enough have a Chihuahua named Spike so how could I go wrong? :)

And here's my own Spike! He's quite the baby and he loves it that way!

So Happy Together

I just adore this digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil because it's so sweet. I colored the image with Prismas and chalks and mounted it to some layered floral paper from My Mind's Eye. The sentiment was stamped with a clear acrylic stamped and mounted with foam tape for dimension. I used paper-punched corner designs for a little extra color instead of the paper flowers I had originally intended on using -- it was definitely overkill.

Birthday Wishes

I'm feeling very productive lately. I've finished stitching a few pieces that I plan to "finish-finish" tomorrow morning, and I got another card done tonight. For this latest card, I used a fairy digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil that came in a four-stamp set. I colored it with my Prismas and then did a little light chalking around the edges. The sentiment was adhered with foam tape for some dimension. I made three paper flowers, 1 large and 2 small, gave them some rhinestone centers and attached them with different levels of foam tape. I had recently purchased a new paper stack that had these great patterns inside - I love working with paper stacks because it takes a lot of the thinking away from me so I don't obsess, which is always a good thing!

Spread Your Wings

Hope everyone is having a great, relaxing Labor Day weekend! I'm enjoying sitting in a sun-filled room crafting to my heart's content. I was able to finish up another card last night using one of my favorite stamps from Mo's Digital Pencil. I just love this fairy - she colors up nicely too which is always a plus! I colored the image with my trusty Prismacolor Pencils and then did some DP layering with some really pretty sage green paper from My Mind's Eye. To bring in a little more color I made some paper flowers using a dark purple and more of the sage green and then added some small light green rhinestones.

Birthday Balloons

I was finally able to devote a weekend to getting some cards done. It's been awhile since I was able to come up with new designs so I feel satisfied knowing I got a lot done. This was the first card of the bunch. I used an image from Mo's Digital Pencil and colored it with Prismas.

Super Star Kid

I tend to not make many boy-themed birthday cards, but I've had this digi for a long time now, and finally decided to color it. I did so with Prismas and chalks, and then found some paper in my stash that coordinated nicely. It needed a little more, so I also found a chipboard "Super Star" embellie to add with some foam tape before deciding to pierce some holes in the design and call it a day.



The digi is from Mo's Digital Pencil and the embellie is from K&Co.
