Stitching Bee

Hello Friends!

The second this "Stitching Bee" pattern by Little House Needleworks was released I knew I just had to stitch it. I absolutely love it!

This piece was stitched on 32 ct Taupe lugana using DMC 729, 3371, 731 and white. I finished it as a mounted easel using tan and brown homespun fabric to give it a primitive look. I made some cording from gold floss and then accented the piece with olive green and tan and black polka dot ribbons before attaching a small white flower to the center.

Hip Hop

Hello Friends!

"Hip Hop" by Hands on Design has been finished!

I stitched this adorable pattern on 28 ct black Jobelan using DMC 3854, 598, 581,760 and white. Its finished as a "fancy flat" piece complete with black and white gingham (of course!) and accented with aqua fabric, white ric rac and some bows and coverbutton. I also made some cording with 3854 and edged all sides of the piece to bring out a little bit of that creamsicle color in the pattern.

Such a cute pattern and such a fun, quick stitch!

Here a Chicken, There a Chicken

Hello Friends!

Today I finished this little chicken piece similar to how I finished my Dancing Beeline.

The pattern is "Wee Chicken" by Heart in Hand and is a pretty quick and easy stitch.

The piece is stitched on Vintage Country Mocha lugana with DMC 304, 729, 310 and white floss. I matted it with some black and white gingham fabric and edged it with some red cording to pull out some color in the design. Both of those pieces are attached to a grey-washed wood pallet board and finished up with gingham and red ribbons.

Cock-a-Doodle-Doo

Hello Friends!

This morning while in the middle of working through my client finishing piles, I was able to fully finish my Cock-a-Doodle-Do piece by Barbara Ana Designs.

Awhile back I had finished this piece for someone else and loved it, so I immediately bought the pattern and stitched it up, finishing it very much the same way as hers.

This piece didn't have the smoothest start as I quickly found out that the fabric I had chosen was a little too light for the white rooster to show up so I actually dunked the fabric in some tea-coffee mix and kept on stitching. Luckily that did the trick!

The stitched piece is matted with some coordinating fabric and mounted to the front of this grey-washed easel with magnets (so I can switch out the design seasonally). I edged the piece with some twine and then added a bow with a star center to the corner. I absolutely love it and thank Andrea so much for enabling me!
