Gingham Explosion!

Hello Friends!

I've been pretty busy getting through my pile of finishes from other stitchers, but I did manage to get in some finishing time for these two patterns I stitched up this week.

I started with Lucky by Cherry Hill Stitchery. This project was stitched and FFO'ed within 36 hours -- that's how quick and fun a stitch it is.

I used a metal tin I had in my stash that I had bought at Michaels last year. The front had a chalkboard, so I matted the stitched piece with some black and white gingham fabric and mounted it to the front. I made some black cording, edged the design and then added two bows with a cover-button center before putting this one to bed. Super cute, and again, such a fun stitch.

The second finish was Beeline by Country Cottage Needleworks. I stitched this up all in DMC (304, 729, 580, 310 and White) and matted it with some red fabric, and then matted it again with some black and white gingham fabric. It's mounted to the front of a whitewashed wall hanging and finished with some white cording, gingham ribbon and another cover-button. I typically don't love spring and summer stitching but I really like the vibrant colors on this contrasted with that gingham.
