SUNFLOWERS AND BEES

Happy Friday, friends!

In just a couple more weeks, I will slowly but surely transition from summer decor to fall, but for now I'm really enjoying my Sunflowers and Bees displays throughout the house.

In the kitchen, one of my focal pieces this year is "Honey" by Cherry Hill Stitchery. I absolutely loved this pattern the second I saw it, so I immediately wanted it stitched up for the kitchen hutch. The piece was stitched on 32 ct Light Taupe Lugana. I did change a few of the floss colors just to keep all of the designs in the hutch matchy-matchy. The piece was matted with this awesome honeycomb fabric first, and then again with buffalo check before I magnetized it to my rustic square frame.

The second piece that was new this year was "Home is Where the Sunflowers Grow" by Little House Needleworks. I finished this piece very similarly to "Honey," except that it's on a white-washed easel I found at Michaels. This piece sits on the top of the hutch near some Rae Dunn decor.
