Halloween Finishes

 Hello Friends!

I've finally gotten around to fully finishing the majority of the Halloween smalls I stitched up this year! It feels good to move them off my pre-finishing table and move on to some Christmas pieces.

This little Ghost came out of one of those Prairie Schooler mini sets. Isn't he the cutest? He's stitched on 32 ct Platinum Lugana using the called-for threads. The cutting board came from Hobby Lobby. It was plain wood so I chalk-painted it black and roughed up the edges. The ghost is matted with homespun fabric and then mounted to the front of the board. I edged the sides with black cording and added this cute Halloween ribbon I found at Joanns.

"Spirits and Spells" by With thy Needle and Thread (Brenda Gervais) was stitched on 28 ct evenweave that I dipped first in purple Rit dye and then again in grey. I used most of the called-for threads. The piece was matted with some Halloween-y fabric and mounted to the front of this barnwood frame from Michaels. I edged the piece with orange cording and added a bow with a pumpkin button center.

"Salem Hill Sampler" by Scarlett House was an impromptu stitch due to the fact that this was fabric I had purchased hoping for a chalkboard tone but it came much more purple than anything else. It screamed Halloween, so --- hence, this piece! It's stitched with DMC using similar colors to the original and finished on a grey-washed easel. I accent the bow with some coordinating embellishments.

I've also been crazy busy in the studio finishing for my awesome clients. I really appreciate anyone who trusts me with their beautiful pieces!

Pumpkin Spice

Hello Friends!

I did a little fall decorating this morning using "Pumpkin Spice" by Cherry Hill Stitchery as my focal piece.

I love the softer fall colors so "Pumpkin Spice" was the perfect piece so add to some pieces I bought at Hobby Lobby, Michaels and Kirklands. It's stitched on 32 ct Platinum Lugana that I dipped in some tea to make it a little darker and stitched with the following colors:

Gentle Arts: Wood Trail
Classic Colorworks: Chopped Chives, Copper Penny
Weeks Dye Works: Grits, Oscar
Colour & Cotton: Sweet Potato

Autumn Skies and Pumpkin Pies

Hello Friends!

"Autumn Skies and Pumpkin Pies" by Hands on Design is freshly finished this morning! I decided to mount it on this galvanized easel I found awhile back at Kirklands.

I stitched the chart on 32 ct Platinum Lugana using the following DMC colors: 3776, 3849, 535, 3790 and 580. The stitched piece was matted with black and white gingham and then mounted to the front of the easel. I made some white cording to edge the sides and then just criss-crossed some ribbon I found at Hobby Lobby.

Hello Autumn!

Hello Friends!

This morning I finished up Hello Autumn, a chart that's included in Let's Talk Autumn by Hands on Design. It's meant to be stitched on black, but I wanted to mount it on this glittery pumpkin I had in my stash, so I just switched up the colors a bit. I may stitch it again in the black like the pattern calls for. It's such a cute, easy pattern to stitch!

The pattern was stitched on 32 ct Platinum Lugana and I used the following DMC threads: 3849, 580, 611, 310, 3853, 920 and White. I finished it as a round flat and then added some cording I made out of DMC 580. Then I just added a few bows/ribbons to bring out some more color.
