Valentine Bird

Hello Friends!

This morning I finished up this "Valentine Bird" from Heart in Hand as a mounted easel. I chose black and gingham fabric for the back and then edged the piece with white cording before adding a pink bow with heart center.

I also finished up this cute little wood easel using one of Heart in Hand's Merry Making Mini patterns. It's stitched on some 32 ct lugana and mounted to green fabric.

Valentine's Day Finishes

Hi Friends!

After a full week with the flu, I was finally able to function long enough to hit the studio today and get some finishing done. It really felt good to (kind of) be back in the swing of things.

I started with this small XOXO bucket.

The pattern I used is from a portion of "XOXO" by Cherry Hill Stitchery under the "A Hearts and Flowers Valentine" pattern set. I changed up the colors to DMC white, 347, 604 and 471 and stitched it on some mocha lugana. The piece is glued directly to the red bucket and then all I did was add some white cording and a bow.

The second finish was this small wood ornament that I used Hands on Design's "Be Mine" pattern to decorate. I stitched the piece on some dyed grey evenweave I had and then mounted the piece to some pink and grey fabric before adding the hanger and ribbon.

The third finish was a stitch I had laying around for weeks not knowing what to do with. It didn't look good with any of my stashed pieces or in a frame, so right before I was about to make it a mounted hanging flat, I changed it up into an easelback with this really cute coordinating pink and green fabric. I matted the stitching to some green fabric before mounting both to the handmade easel. I added white cording and a bow with a cover-button center.

Snowmen Finishes

Hi Friends!

Three Lizzie Kate snowman finishes have been stitched, FFOed and moved out the door!

I found this metal bucket at Hobby Lobby and because of its size, I knew I had to stitch up something small for the front. I found this "January"pattern by Lizzie Kate and only stitched the snowman. He's mounted to the front, edged in some cording and accessorized with some flocked greenery.

The second finish is also from Lizzie Kate and is finished in much of the same way except that the snowman trio is attached to a square metal bucket (also found at Hobby Lobby).

The third finish is Lizzie Kate's "Ready for Snow" and I decided to turn this into a "Fancy Flat" ornament using some grey/blue fabric. I added some ribbon and ric rac to jazz it up a bit.

On all three snowman I used the following DMC colors: 223, 815, 930, 932, 3031, 310, White
