Hi friends!
Here are some of my favorite non-stitched finishes for clients this past month.
Hello friends!
As I work on dismantling the downstairs patriotic vignettes to move into my sunflowers and bees theme, I thought I'd share two finishes I was able to add to the mix this year.
"Old Glory" by Little House Needleworks was a pretty quick stitch. I finished this piece as a fancy flat backed with some Moda red firework fabric and mounted to the inside of this grey-washed frame I picked up at At Home this year. To tie it in with all of my other patriotic cross stitch pieces, I used the same denim white stitched ribbon.
"Strawberries and Stripes" by With Thy Needle and Thread was another quick stitch. I finished this piece as a flat circle and backed it with more of the red Moda fabric. I had this white-washed block I had used before, so I attached washers and magnets to the back so I can switch it out again in the fall. This piece sits on my new big tiered tray tower.
Happy Friday, friends!
I was able to stitch and finish Souvenirs of the Heart: Star Spangled Spectacular from With Thy Needle and Thread earlier this month just in time to add it to the patriotic hutch in my kitchen for July 4th.
I found this red chalkboard easel at Michaels and I knew that with some backing fabrics, it would be the perfect size to fit, so I first dry-sanded the chalkboard a little bit just to make it look a little more rustic, and then I matted the stitched piece first with some red patriotic fabric, and then again with steel blue fabric. I used more of that blue stitched ribbon from Hobby Lobby to tie my other patriotic pieces in, and then just added a small white floral center. This pattern has been in my to-stitch pile for at least a year, so I'm really happy I was able to get it done and out this year, even if it's only for a few weeks!
Hi friends!
"Blessed Be" by With Thy Needle and Thread has been in my WIP pile for two whole years. I just couldn't let it sit for a third summer, so I worked tirelessly this week (which is hard with a 10-week old puppy) to get it done --- and it feels so good!
