Early Morning Hustle

Hello Friends!

I got up extra early this morning to finish up the last of Andrea's stitched pieces. I've played around with them for a couple of weeks trying to figure out what finishes would be best for her pieces because they're so beautiful, and this is what I came up with:

This first piece is the top part of "Sunflower Manor" from Hands on Design. I finished into a mounted flat so that it can be placed in an easel or used as a shelf-sitter, but I attache an orange ribbon around the back so that it could be hung up, too. I made some aqua cording to pull out the aqua stitches in the pattern and then added a black and white gingham bow with a sunflower center.

The second piece is "Trick or Treat" from Shepherd's Bush. I chose to finish it as a mounted flatfold but I used black and white check homespun for the back and purple fabric for the front to pull out the colors of the piece. I used black cording for the edges and then added some purple and black ribbons with a black and white bow in the center.

The third piece is "A Little Snow" by Lizzie Kate, and I went with a easel finish for this one. I used some green fabric for the backing and made some cording out of pale pink floss. Then I made a small bow out of snowflake ribbon and added a snowflake button to the center.

The last one if this cute little bee pattern I finished as a mounted flat ornament. I used some white cording around the edges to pull out the white in the bee's wings and then added a brown bow with a black and tan homespun cover button center.

Then I FFOed this little sailboat piece I had stitched up from Country Cottage Needleworks. I made it a mounted flat ornament with green as the backing piece on the front, and blue as the backing piece on the back. Then I made some cording out of blue and white floss and added a blue bow with a green coordinating cover button.

Thanks for stopping by!
