Valentine's Day Finishes

Hi Friends!

After a full week with the flu, I was finally able to function long enough to hit the studio today and get some finishing done. It really felt good to (kind of) be back in the swing of things.

I started with this small XOXO bucket.

The pattern I used is from a portion of "XOXO" by Cherry Hill Stitchery under the "A Hearts and Flowers Valentine" pattern set. I changed up the colors to DMC white, 347, 604 and 471 and stitched it on some mocha lugana. The piece is glued directly to the red bucket and then all I did was add some white cording and a bow.

The second finish was this small wood ornament that I used Hands on Design's "Be Mine" pattern to decorate. I stitched the piece on some dyed grey evenweave I had and then mounted the piece to some pink and grey fabric before adding the hanger and ribbon.

The third finish was a stitch I had laying around for weeks not knowing what to do with. It didn't look good with any of my stashed pieces or in a frame, so right before I was about to make it a mounted hanging flat, I changed it up into an easelback with this really cute coordinating pink and green fabric. I matted the stitching to some green fabric before mounting both to the handmade easel. I added white cording and a bow with a cover-button center.

Finishes of the Week

Hello Friends!

Another busy week in the studio with things really ramping up for Christmas. I feel like this year it's reeeeeally coming too fast. And I'm so not ready!

I started the week putting together a large order for Karen.

The first stitch and finish was this Woodland Sampling by Little House Needleworks. It's stitched on 28 count grey, tea-dyed evenweave and matted with black and tan homespun. Both pieces were mounted to the front of this white-washed easel and then I just added some flocked greenery and a jute bow with cover-button center to the top.

STITCHY DETAILS:

Pattern: Woodland Sampling
Designer: Little House Needleworks
Woodland Sampling - Cross Stitch Pattern
Fabric: 28 ct grey, tea-dyed evenweave
Colors Used: DMC 3787, 3052, 815, 3051, 937, 869, 3799, 3022, White

The second part of the order were these two wooden boxes.

On the left is "Merry Merry" by Country Cottage Needleworks, and on the right is "Ho Ho Ho" that's included in one of Lizzie Kate's Tiny Tiding sets. I matted both pieces with red and white gingham fabric and mounted them to the front of these boxes. Then I just added some cording and bows with snowflake centers.

The last part of the order were two decorative boxes.

I stitched two patterns from The Sub Rosa Design shop on Etsy and matted them with more homespun fabric before mounting them to the front of these winter-themed decorative boxes I had in my stash. I added some bows to the corners and then added small snowflake buttons.

Then I finished these AWESOME pieces by Ashley. I love every single one of them and immediately bought the patterns to start stitching them myself.

Then I finished this piece from Amanda for her laundry room. It's the "Never Ending Cycle" pattern from Hands on Design's laundry collection. She's mounting it to the front of a metal washboard. Isn't it so cute?

I Love Fall

Hello Friends!

I had an impromptu stitch and finish from Cherry Hill Stitchery this week that I ended up FFOing this morning into a basket-front. Don't you just love this pattern?

I changed most of the colors to bring in more of the greys and blues and then mounted my stitched piece to the front of a white-washed mini crate I had in my stash. I made some cording out of the oranges I used in the pattern and then added some olive green ribbon, a twine bow I made and two small buttons for embellishments. Absolutely love this piece!

STITCHY DETAILS:

Pattern: I Love Fall
Designer: Cherry Hill Stitchery
Fabric: 32 ct Vinage Country Mocha Lugana
Colors Used: DMC 926, 927, 928, 3826, 3827, 739, 739,
730, 732, 839, 610, Ecru

I also finished up some pieces from Tricia and Allie.
