Singing in the Spring

Hello friends!

It's a gorgeous morning here in Phoenix so I really enjoyed spending it in my craft studio with all the windows open, letting the sun shine in. It really put me in the mood to finish this new springy wall hanging.

The pattern is "Morning Song" and it's from Country Cottage Needleworks -- one of my favs. I used all DMC threads and made no substitutions (very rare for me). It's finished into a flat fold which is mounted to some pretty coordinating fabric and then ultimately matted to this aqua wood pallet sign. I then just added a bow made with some coordinating ribbon and added a white cover button. I'm in love with it!

I'm Baaaack!

I'm so happy to say we're finally all moved into our new beautiful home in Phoenix! It feels so good to be able to walk around without bumping into boxes, and to actually see the house take shape and feel like "home." It also feels good to be back in my art studio crafting again. I was starting to lose my mind a bit... more so than usual!

My first official finish in the new house is "Snow Day."

I had started to stitch this piece while still in Connecticut, and was able to finish it up on the road to Arizona. I had stitched it up on some blue fabric I dyed so that the white would pop.

The frame is beat-up and weathered -- exactly how I like it. I love how it makes the piece feel really old and weathered.

To finish it off, I added some snow-covered branches and a large snowflake for accents, with a cover button in the center.

Now it's back off to my studio!
