Christmas Break

Hi everyone!

With the holidays quickly approaching, I’ve decided to take an actual vacation from EVERYTHING! Ya! I always take the holiday week off from work-work, but I’ve never completely shut down my shop/blog, etc, etc., which means I usually run around like a nutcase trying to re-stock my virtual shelves, write some articles, and fine-tune all of my business “stuff.” This year, I’ve decided to take a break from all that too and really focus on spending some time with my family just relaxing.

I’m completely out of stock of all of my Christmas items so that’s good, and I plan to ship the rest of my packages out today and tomorrow, and then after that, I’m closing shop until January 2, 2013! YA!!!

I want to personally thank everyone who has read my blog, visited me on HubPages, purchased any of my items, and have sent me love in so many forms this year. I feel very blessed to have had such a successful year doing what I love. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday, and I can’t wait to hear from you all again soon!

Happy Holidays and thanks for stopping by!

Handmade Dog Thank You Card

Today I'm featuring one of my dog thank you cards from my studio and Etsy shop.

This card features a digi stamp from Meljens that was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and chalks. The paper is from My Mind's Eye and was layered with coordinating patterns. Both the image and sentiment were adhered with foam tape for added dimension.

You Are My Sunshine

Hi everyone!

Today I'm featuring my You Are My Sunshine framed art piece. I actually remembered to take a picture before shipping it off. Ya!!

The pattern is from Country Cottage Needleworks and it features some really great colors. For the background I decided to use 28 ct Jobelan in sky blue so it looks like it has clouds in the background. The stitching was the easiest part because once it was finished, I had no idea what color to paint the frame. I started with green, changed it to white (that was fun...) and then I went to black before settling on a slate blue color. I painted it a dark blue first, sanded it down, and then dry-brushed it with a lighter blue to make it look (hopefully) old! I added brown backing paper and a sawooth hanger before calling it a day.

You Take the Cupcake

Hi everyone!

Today I'm posting two cards using similar stamps from Mo's Digital Pencil and similar paper from My Mind's Eye. When I went to start crafting these two cards I realized the similarities right away and just went with it. I colored the stamps with Prismacolor Pencils and used some chalk around the edges. I layered the DP and then added the paper-punched flowers.

First Christmas Cards

Quick post to feature two of my first Christmas cards this year. I'm still trying to find some time to create new stamped cards but it's just not working for me right now. This time of year always gets a little crazy and I always kick myself for not starting in July... maybe next year will be the year I take my own advice. :)

These cards are basically chipboard and lots and lots of layering. Christmas DP is some of the prettiest paper out there and I was fortunate to have some in my stash that match my cut-outs.
