Cu-pig - Stamps R Us Challenge #13

It's a new challenge at Stamps R Us and the theme is all animals. Sew Many Cards is sponsoring this challenge and offering a great prize, so make sure you go over and check it out.

For my card, I went with a non-digi stamp (gasp) and it actually encouraged me to use more of them rather than just having them take a bunch of space up in my craft room! This piggy stamp is called "Swine and Wine" and it's from Penny Black. I watercolored him because I wanted him to have a little splotchy (that is a word right?) but ultimately, I didn't really get the effect I was looking for, so I'll probably just Prisma him next time. The DP is some scraps I had in my stash along with some really cute daisy paper in my Pocket Full of Posies DCWV stack. The sentiment was created with alphabet stickers and a small heart punch while the large flower embellie was created with multiple punches. There's a lot of foam tape her (I'm obsessed) for some dimension.

Oh, and yeah, I don't know why I off-centered the pig... :)

Brentwood's Birthday

I just love Jessica Lynn's Brentwood Owl stamps! Isn't he the cutest? For this card, I used some vibrant striped paper from DCWV to compliment Brentwood's party hat. Brentwood is colored with a combo of Prismas and chalks and is adhered to large scalloped circle Nesties. The paper flowers were stamped with more of the same paper and are adhered with foam tape. I varied the height of the foam tape s that the flower in the center of the trio is higher than the other two. Gives it a little more dimension. I added the lime green rhinestones just to give it a little more color.

This particular Brentwood stamp was digital, so I was able to add "Have a hoot!" on his banner with my PC. The sentiment is also PC-generated, and is adhered with a brad so that it acts as a hinge.
