All Things Grow with Love Cards

There's no better to get back into the swing of things than to accomplish a few challenges. This week, I went with an "All Things Grow with Love" theme for two different challenges.

The first card was for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge #37. It was a sketch challenge sponsored by Sally Ann from DigiStamp Boutique so I knew I had to play along.
For this card I used the Garden Flowers digi stamp from DSB and went with vibrant spring colors. The paper is from DCWV. I loved how it picked up the spring flowers in the background.

The flower stamp itself was colored with Prismas and then bordered with scalloped Nestablities. The sentiment was computer generated and placed on a smaller scalloped Nestabilitized oval. I layed a bunch of different colored flower punches on top of each other to try to pick up all the colors in the card, and then popped it up with a foam square. I am now officially ready for Spring!

The second card was for the Stamps 'R Us Challenge #3, hosted by the fabulous Carrie. It was a color challenge in which you could only use Red, Black and White. Here is my submission.

I went with a very simple design, and used a basic sentiment bordered in scalloped Nestabilities as well as a hand-punched, popped up flower to highlight the classic colors in the DP. The flower consists of two large punched flowers seperated with a foam tape square for dimension with the bottom flower being inked at the edges in red to match the background DP. The rhinestones were added last when I realized it needed a little something more. Many thanks to Carrie for putting the challenge together.

It's been more than one week since my last post... but for good reason! I got some kind of God-awful stomach bug that came with a high fever and completely knocked me out for a good five days straight. No need to go into details, but for awhile I thought I might need to be on an IV. It can get very depressing to be sick like that which is why it was so nice that I found out I had won the SPCC Challenge on Wednesday. Samantha, the host of SPCC, put together a great prize pack I'm so excited to receive. Check it out - they offer great challenges every Tuesday.

Luckily I didn't get any custom orders this week because this weekend I haven't felt like doing much of anything besides watching the Olympics in my pajamas. I'm going to definitely need to get some inventory going tomorrow, though, so I plan on spending the day in my studio.

Thanks to all the Feel Better e-mails I got. You guys are the best.

I just finished this "Aloha!" card for both the weekly Mojo Madness Challenge #124, as well as the SPCC Color Combo Challenge #33. Since they were both Monday challenges with one being a sketch challenge, and the other being a color challenege, it seemed only fitting to combine the two.

The Mojo Madness challenge was designed by Julee Tilman, and the SPCC Challenge was hosted by Samantha Strachan.

The SPCC challenge colors made me think of summer and the beach, so I used my "Kalei" digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil and went with a completley Hawaiian theme. All paper is from SU, including the hand-punched flowers. I used small rhinestones for the centers of each flower for a little added sparkle, and then used foam tape on Kalei and the large flower to give it some dimension. The sentiment is computer-generated and Nestabilitized on a small strip of Summer Sun and Pink Passion paper. Kalei is colored with Prismas and chalks.

I really enjoyed both of these challenges this week. Give them a try!
