Fresh Watermelon

Good morning!

I'm really loving summer stitching right now. First with the Ladybug, Ladybug, and now this cute watermelon piece.

The stitched piece is matted with some tan and black homespun fabric and both are attached to the front of this white-washed square plaque I had bought at Michaels. I made some cording out of the two pinks in the stitched piece and edged the sides of the piece. For the top, I made a bow out of some pale green ribbon and then added white ribbon behind it. Then I made a cover button out of white fabric and added a small floral button to the center.

STITCHY DETAILS:

Pattern: Fresh Watermelon
Designer: Little House Needleworks
Fresh Watermelon - Cross Stitch Pattern
Fabric: 28 ct. Tea-dyed Evenweave Monaco
Colors Used: DMC 420, 761, 729, 3051, 3052,
3328, 3371, 3712, White

Thanks for stopping by!
