Seaside Cottage

Hello Friends!

So Seaside Cottage is done and I must say I'm much happier with it now that it's finished than I was when I was stitching it. The funny thing is I WAS actually excited about stitching this when I first kitted it up. I really thought the blue fabric would pop against the white beachy frame (and it does).... but for some reason I could not get myself motivated to stitch this and it spent waaaaaaaay too long in my WIP pile.

I found this super cute beachy frame at a local shop, and I just roughed it up a bit to make it a little distressed. I chose to opt out of background fabric because I really liked that blue against the white but I DID add some twine to make it a little more nautical.

Pattern: Seaside Cottage
Designer: Country Cottage Needleworks

Colors Used:
DMC: 3033, 3864, 157, 793, 3862, 3787, 3022 and White

In non-stitchy news, I'm over the moon to report I found one of my Rae Dunn unicorn pieces! I desperately needed this piece (the three mini dishes and the large platter behind) for my August beach and watermelon theme so needless to say I made a mini scene in TJ Maxx this morning. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Congratulations on finding your unicorn pieces of Rae Dunn! What an incredible stitch and finished finish you have created, Alissa! What blue fabric did you use for this piece? It is a stunning color.

Hello. I just came across your blog and I wanted to say I will enjoy following along. I love your cross stitch pieces and I love the way you finish them. It is great to see the project stitched out and then to see it framed and finished is really a treat. You have a magical way of making the piece show at its very best!
