Cross-country Adventure Part 1

I'm sitting in a hotel in Lubbock, Texas -- the last stop before we get to Arizona (our final destination). I've never been this far west so it has been very interesting to say the least. So far we've crossed Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and now Texas. Considering I left my home in Connecticut on Friday morning at 5 am, I'd say we're making good timing. What a ride!

Highlights so far:

Went to Independence Mall in Kansas City where I almost brought home a teeny-weeny Yorkie puppy I fell in love with for my parents who just lost their 17-year old Yorkie. I was able to maintain control and managed to walk out without "Jasper." They do have a very cool carousel in the mall though.

Went to the KC Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles game at Arrowhead. They weren't kidding about it being the loudest stadium in the world. My ears are still ringing.

Went to my first Bob Evans in Indiana where they serve drinks in mason jars... super creative and adorable!

Visited the largest casino in the world. Being from CT, we were a little bitter about losing our #1 spot, but this place was unbelievable. It just goes on and on and on...

Visited a Pocket Full of Stitches in Lubbock. We only really have one needlework shop in CT that is remotely near me and it's not that big. This place was amazing!

Finally got to experience dry heat vs non-dry heat. It was 96 degrees today with a humidity of 20%. I'm not going to say it wasn't hot, but I've had days in CT when it was only 85-90 degrees with a humidity of 50+ and I've been WAAAAAAY more miserable.

Tomorrow, Part 2 of the trip begins. We arrive in Flagstaff tomorrow afternoon, and we're in Phoenix for the next week. Being that our plan is to move there permanently, I'm really hoping I love it! Fingers crossed!

Thanks for stopping by!

Did you travel I-70? Where did you stop in Indiana? I-70 goes right by where I live and if you stopped at a Bob Evans right off I-70, then you were very close to where I live.

Have a great trip!
