Dogs Leave Pawprints

Hello Friends!

Just put the finishing touches on this mounted flatfold. The design is "Dogs Leave Pawprints" from Lizzie Kate. Being that I'm a dog lover myself, this pattern has always been one of my faves. I don't usually substitute any colors, but for this specific FFO, I wish I had because I went to go put the flatfold together and realized that out of my entire fabric stash, I somehow didn't have a matching fabric. Luckily, I was able to find some homespun that coordinated nicely. Phew!

Bunny Meadow

Hello friends!

I just LOVE this new finish! I stitched up this cute pattern "Happy Bunny Bunny Day" from Trilogy, opting out of the ABC sampler and border. I'm pretty sure I changed all colors except for the white but it's stitched in all DMC floss.

I had found this really cute frame at a local thrift store and decided to chalkpaint it a farmhouse green color before sanding off some of the edges so it looked a little more rustic. The stitched piece was the perfect size, so I just added a mat of homespun (which can be a pain in the neck to work with because of the nature of the fabric itself) and then added a small bow for the corner. Super cute and ready for spring!

Love My Coffee!!

Do I ever! Especially any kind of Macchiato - either hot OR cold -- from Dunkin. I swear the amount of caffeine in these things make me stitch faster --- at least that's what I tell myself. And pumpkin season just around the corner, I have a feeling I'll be doing a whole lot of stitching and a lot less sleeping!

Anyways... this "Love My Coffee" sampler is one of my faves to stitch. I framed it inside a blue/grey frame and added some coordinating fabric and ric rac to pull out the colors -- many of which I substituted for slightly different variations.

Happy Bark Mitzvah!

I have received many unique and creative requests over the years --  many of them leaving me asking myself, "Why didn't I think of that?!" but I have to say, I don't believe I've ever had a request for a custom greeting card that was quite as clever as this one!

Something tells me the recipient of this card is one spoiled dog!

On a separate but related note, my blog friend, Karen, has recently started a blog called Sending Paw Prints. If you are a card-maker, please visit her site and help if you can!

Sending Pawprints Mission
Sending Paw Prints supports our furry friends by collecting blank thank you pet themed handmade cards and donating them to animal shelters and rescue groups for them to write thank you messages to foster parents, donors and volunteers.

Animal shelters and rescue groups send hundreds of thank you cards to foster parents, donors and volunteers each month. Sending Paw Prints mission is to donate enough blank thank you pet themed handmade cards to animal shelters and rescue groups so they no longer need to purchase them and are able to send a heartfelt thank you message with a personal handcrafted card.
