Hen and Chicks

Hello Friends!

To say this finish caused me fits is an understatement! I love the pattern and loved the way it looked stitched up. I even like when I finished it onto this galvanized shelf-sitter. And then I hated it when it kept tipping over from being front heavy. UGH!!! So, it sat on my desk for over a week while I thought about how to combat this problem and decided to go with a simple square platform.

The stitched piece is matted with some black and tan homespun fabric, and then mounted to the front of this square, galvanized shelf-sitter. I added a burlap bow with a matching cover button and then covered the base with more homespun fabric to bring it all together. I'm very thankful this all worked out because I swear there was a time when I thought this was going to end up thrown out the window!
